Games I Recommend
- Beyond The Red Line - A Battlestar Galactica Figher Combat Game (Linux, Mac, and Windows)
Free software multiplayer fighter combat game based on the Battlestar Galactica universe and the Freespace2 engine. Currently only a playable demo is available, however this game has shown rapid progress. Worth playing and worth following the community! - Nexuiz (Linux, Mac, and Windows)
Free software multiplayer FPS based off of ID Software's Quake engine. I play on random servers which I ping low to. Having a fast connection is very important for this game. - FUO: Free Ultima Online (Windows only
)
The commercial fantasy MMORPG Ultima Online produced by EA can be played on one of many free servers now if you can procure a copy of the client and install some third party software. With a vast, expansive world and many free servers to play on, this game is a wonderful time waster if you don't mind finding a way to procure the client (not difficult), the dated game engine (who cares), or the fact that it only runs in Windows (kind of a show stopper for me). The player run UO community is maturing quite well, but it still has a long way to go. The more people the better!- UOGamers.com Downloads - Everything you need to play on the UOGamers free server (which is the most popular), including a copy of the game client.
- UOGateway - an alternative application to UOGamers' ConnectUO to connect to free servers.

- Subspace/Continuum (Windows only
but also Linux with patched WINE)
Fun, addictive, unique, free, massively multiplayer overhead 2d space shooter. I recommend the 17th Parallel zone.
